Canterbury Christian School is an extension of the family committed to the Christian training of grade school children.
We are probably all familiar with the ancient adage: A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.
We are probably less familiar, however, with an important corollary: The direction of a thousand mile journey is also established by the first step! Even a little reflection will reveal the importance which the first step of any venture bears on its eventual outcome!
The psalmist of old communicated the very same message three thousand years ago when he penned the inspired words:
Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth (Psalm 127:3-4).
Children are not “ours” but God’s — and He entrusts them to our keeping.
The scope of parenting children entails responsibility for their education and training.
Children are to be “launched” like arrows – in their youth!
When it comes to training the children whom the Almighty has entrusted to us, the elementary years of education are without doubt the most important of all – for they set the direction for the rest of the child’s life!
Canterbury Christian School, though certainly open and available to all, in the final practical analysis is really for those who understand their grave calling and the immense responsibility placed upon their shoulders by God in the training of His children.
