Several student activities are interspersed through the school year to introduce variety and a break from the routine. Opera A La Carte visits the school each fall and integrates upper grade students into an age-appropriate dramatic presentation. Last year they presented Cinderella and this year The Elixir of Love (see sidebar). Jack Pearson also brings his wholesome and delightful musical entertainment to the students during the first semester. November 1 always finds students and staff dressed up for the school’s enjoyable All-Saints’ Day Parade! During the second semester, Goodness Snakes Alive! brings an interesting variety of reptiles to the school for a highly popular time of exciting hands-on learning. Bach-Wards Day and International Day are also enjoyed during the spring.
The members of RTS (Raise the Standard) – Canterbury’s student government – also sponsor creative and fun activities for the student body, including Water Day and other team-building events during Spirit Week near the end of the school year.
