Canterbury Christian School is now accepting applications for grades Kindergarten through Sixth for the 2018-2019 academic year. Using the Abeka, Shurley Grammar, and Latina Christiana curricula, these classes on average test in the top 10 percent of students nationwide each year. Class size is limited to 16 in a traditional structured classroom, giving the students maximum personal attention, and a sense of quiet and orderliness. A Christian Worldview is promoted, with no bad language, teasing, or bullying tolerated. As a result, students flourish and thrive in an atmosphere of supervised order. Latin is taught beginning in the third grade. Attractive uniforms are worn and adjunct classes include music, art, handbells, and P.E. Admission is by application only. Educational records will need to be presented and a personal interview scheduled. Testing for placement is required of all incoming students except those entering kindergarten (parents are obligated to pay $25 for each test). Canterbury reserves the right to place students in the appropriate instructional level as determined by test results and developmental maturity. Children should be five years old by the end of September in order to be eligible for kindergarten.
