Our Sixth-grade class recently attended a lecture with Ken Ham, the CEO and founder of Answers in Genesis-US, and the highly acclaimed Creation Museum, and the world-renowned Ark Encounter. His lecture entitled, “Science Confirms the Bible” was delivered at Calvary Chapel in San Jose as part of a series of talks aimed at helping students defend their faith and demonstrate how the Bible has solid answers to scientific questions.
In and out of the classroom, Canterbury students are trained to, “be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you” (1 Peter 3:15). At Canterbury, we continue to teach and defend the traditional and historical understanding of the Bible. We believe that God created the heavens and the earth in six literal days, and that God created all life (Gen. 1); we reject the man-made theory of evolution occurring over millions of years.
Our Science, Bible, and History curriculum all look to God’s Holy Word as the standard for our worldview and students are thoroughly equipped to think critically, value the scientific method, and study the historical facts independently.
